CHARL participates in the 2019 PARA VHF/UHF Round-up Contest

The CHARL Contest Team participated in the 2019 PARA VHF/UHF Round-Up Contest held last May 4-5, 2019. The team participated in the Multi-Operator Field All-Band Category. Despite the limited power and being their first time to participate in such contest, the team managed to contact 12 stations from within DU6 to DU9 lands. The Chocolate Hills Amateur Radio League, Inc. celebrated with 33rd Anniversary with an Induction and Oath-taking of New Officers and Members for Calendar Year 2019 last February 2, 2019 at Reyna's the Haven & Gardens, Bruñidor St. (formerly New Calceta St.), Tagbilaran City, with the theme: "Strength and Resilience Amidst the Challenges in Ham Radio". PARA District 7 Director, Ador Lamoste (DU7AL), administered the oath to the new set of Officers for 2019 led by Club President, Lawrence Medilo (DU7LEN). CHARL's Annual General Membership Meeting, Election of Trustees and Christmas Party was recently held last December 2, 2018 at the Udtohan Residence, Sen. Aquino Jr. Ave., Tagbilaran City. The activity started with the meeting wherein Engr. Gerisses Marie Marmito (DU7GMM) reported on the Club's activities for the calendar year 2018. Club Treasurer, Kim Denno Cirujales (DV7BMY), reported on the financial status of the club. It was followed by the elections for the four (4) seats in the Board of Trustees vice Monico H. Sayon (DW7BMX), Michael P. Madria (DW7BMN), Kim Denno C. Cirujales (DV7BMY) and Laica Mae M. Lamoste (DV7BLE), whose term will end on December 31, 2018. Elected to a new 3-year term are: Laica Mae M. Nine (9) CHARL members completed the 4-day Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support Training held at the PRC Bohol Chapter HQ, Marapao Street, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, last September 20-23, 2018. It was sponsored by the Philippines Red Cross-Bohol Chapter. CHARL joins in the 2018 Alay Lakad

CHARL provided radio communications during the 2018 Alay Lakad held on September 9, 2018 in Tagbilaran City. This year's chairman of the Alay Lakad Executive Committee is the CHARL President, Engr. Gerisse Marie Marmito (DU7GMM). The annual Alay Lakad is aimed at generating donations for the benefit of out-of-school youths and scholarships to poor but deserving students.
