CHARL provided radio communications during the 2018 Alay Lakad held on September 9, 2018 in Tagbilaran City. This year's chairman of the Alay Lakad Executive Committee is the CHARL President, Engr. Gerisse Marie Marmito (DU7GMM). The annual Alay Lakad is aimed at generating donations for the benefit of out-of-school youths and scholarships to poor but deserving students.

CHARL members participate in Basic ICS Training in Cebu City

CHARL members participated in the 3-day Basic Incident Command System Training Course on August 1-3, 2018 held at the OneCentral Hotel in Cebu City, which was organized by the NDRRMC and the Office of Civil Defense, Region 7. The Club sent four delegates led by Alex Cuñado (DV7BMK), the club's Vice President for External Affairs. The other delegates are: the club's Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee, Ralph Bonita (DW7BLG); and two of the club's Net Controllers, Emelito Doroy (DY7BOD) and Olimpio Gulle II (DY7BTF). CHARL & ARCCO seals partnership and friendship

CHARL and the Antequera Radio and Cellphone Communication Organization, Inc. (ARCCO), a civic radio group based in Antequera, Bohol, sealed their friendship and at the same time, ARCCO was officially welcomed as an affiliate-member club of CHARL, in a simple ceremony held in Celing, Antequera, Bohol, last June 17, 2018. CHARL members, led by its President, Engr. Gerisse Marie Marmito, DU7GMM, went to Celing and were welcomed by ARCCO members, led by its President, Mario Calabria. The two groups pledged to work together in service to Bohol and at the same time, ARCCO will be working out to be affiliated with PARA in the future.

NTC conducts Amateur Radio Exam

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), thru its Radio Operators Examination Committee (ROEC), conducted an Amateur Radio Operators Licensure Examination last May 12, 2018 at the Holy Name University, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. A total of 207 examinees applied for said exam broken down per class as follows: Class A - 3 examinees, Class B - 16 examinees, Class C - 187 examinnes, and Class D - 1 examinee. The said exam was part of the scheduled regular Regional Examinations for 2018 per NTC Office Order No. 01-01-2018A. The result is expected to be released 2-3 weeks from date of examination, and published at the NTC website: http://www.ntc.gov.ph/.

CHARL holds 32nd Anniversary and Induction

The Chocolate Hills Amateur Radio League, Inc. (CHARL) recently held its 32nd Anniversary, Grand Eyeball and Induction of Officers and New Members last January 28, 2018 at the Bohol Tropics Resort Club, this city. The event was participated in by more than 60 Hams from all over Bohol. Club President, Gerisse Marie Marmito, DU7GMM, welcomed the participants, followed by an Inspirational Message by NTC-7 Bohol Field Office OIC, Engr. Dennis Rocamora.
